I am a wife of 14 years and have two boys, one is 10 and an the other is 8. They are busy and keep us hopping. I have been a pre-school teacher for 9 years with a break in the middle to teach kindergarten in FL for three years, and I had the luxury of staying home with my two boys for a few years. I enjoy teaching pre-school age children it gives me great pride to help set a generation up to succeed in their school careers and life. I am currently going back to school to complete my masters degree in early childhood education at Walden University.

  1. I really liked that quote. I have had children start my class that have never been in daycare or preschool and encounter issues with sharing, learning to listen during circle time, etc. For some reason that quote made me think of how teachers must sometimes feel…..I am not the cause, but I can be the solution. Working with children and seeing the difference you can make when that day comes when it just seems to click for that child who was struggling with a classroom environment and all of a sudden the just get it and everything falls into place. What an amazing feeling to know that you were responsible for helping that child learn to interact with other children their age, sharing, listening…..

  2. This is an excellent quote from Stanley Greenspan. Even if we are not the problem, we can be the solutions. Sometimes all we have to do is listen to a person and focus on the solution not the problem. This is how I supervise my staff. When they are complaining about things, I ask them what they think the solution should be and we brainstorm. Sometimes all a person needs is a listening ear and a smile.
